Normandy MCC SEEC Round 8
Was looking forward to riding back at Yateley Heath because unlike the Kingston round the YZ was now fitted with hand guards to deal with the very tight tree sections. Bike started first kick as usual and had to wait for Elliot’s KTM to fire up so I could follow him and do some filming on my helmet camera, he set of on a fast pace but only a third of the way round his throttle cable snapped, pity as the footage I took looks great. I did my special test on the second lap and it went well just a couple of mistakesand a few corners I could have taken a lot faster, the time was fastest clubman B a few tenths slower than the quickest A and quicker than some experts.

After finishing the test I went over to tell Si that his son was stranded on the going with no throttle cable, he in return said that I should stick my finger out as the times looked very tight. I come in from the first 75 session with about a minute to spare and not enough time to put some fuel in, as I never started with a full tank I was beginning to get worried that I could make the next 60 minute 2 lap sessions with the fuel so decided to come in between laps. I made it on time and still had to do another 2 hours worth of riding on that tank and the longest I ever ridden on a tank of fuel was hour and three quarters so not a very good decision in highsight. That left me no choice but run in economy mode for the rest of the Enduro to stretch the tank range out but had a bit of luck when they cut a lap out as a lot of riders would have hour out. Very good Enduro course was well marked and had a little bit of everything.

Result: Second Place

Special Test: Quickest in class
